Join us for our next Social Circus Connection Call with CarlosAlexis Cruz on February 13th at 10am PT / 11am MT / 12am CT / 1pm ET. In this call, we will discuss circular leadership - what it is and how to integrate it into your organization.

CarlosAlexis Cruz is the Producing Artistic Director of the Nouveau Sud Circus project; a circus for social change company in service of intercultural and cross cultural communications in the urban region of Charlotte, North Carolina. The company is currently invested in La BESTIA, a circus take on the journey of central American immigrants touring in Chicago Summer 2023. Cruz’s Nouveau Sud was awarded a NEFA National Theatre Project Creation and Touring grant for Bestia. Other awards: Knight Foundation- Celebrate Charlotte Arts, Princess Grace Foundation 2017 Works in Progress Award for the development of Pícaro with the support of the Baryshnikov Arts Center in NYC and the 2014 Arts and Science Council’s McColl award for the development of new, socially-engaged work. With the latter the Nouveau Sud Circus project was developed. Cruz is the Program Director for Master of Fine Arts program in Community-Centered Practices (Fall 2024) and the Associate Professor of Physical Theatre for the College of Arts + Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

About Connection Calls:

The American Circus Educator’s Social Circus Committee is excited to present bi-monthly Social Circus Connection Calls. The Connection Calls are focused on fostering connections between Social Circus practitioners and will usually incorporate specific topics or themes for participants to discuss in smaller breakout rooms. Each Connection call is facilitated by a community member and a Social Circus Committee Member.

Attendance is FREE to current ACE/AYCO members.
Non-members can pay a small fee, no one turned away for lack of funds.

The sessions are not recorded, in order to create a space where attendees are comfortable participating fully in discussion. You do not need to be a member of ACE to attend, however you do need to register separately for each call.
